Submit a Project

The Garden of Cosmic Speculation began with a fascination for land art and the way designed landscapes shape how we feel in a place. Over time, that curiosity led us deeper into private worlds — country houses, family gardens, terraces, and the quiet outdoor rooms where daily life unfolds. Today we document residential architecture and landscape design with the same attention to atmosphere, detail, and storytelling that first drew us to this work. If your project shares that spirit, we would love to hear from you.

What we’re looking for

We feature private homes, gardens, and outdoor spaces that feel both personal and timeless. The scale doesn’t matter — a walled kitchen garden, a contemporary rural retreat, a restored courtyard, a terrace that extends the living space. What matters is a sense of place, a thoughtful relationship between architecture and land, and a story worth telling. Projects can be new, recently completed, or older spaces that have matured gracefully. We are especially drawn to work that hasn’t been widely published elsewhere.

How to submit

Send an email to [email protected] with the following:

  • A short description of the project — location, design intent, and what makes it meaningful to you.
  • The names of the architect, landscape designer, or homeowner (as appropriate).
  • A handful of photographs that capture the atmosphere. Phone snapshots are fine for an initial look; we’ll request higher-resolution images or arrange original photography if the project moves forward.
  • Any relevant links, but please don’t send large files until we ask.

What happens next

We review every submission carefully. Because of the volume of mail, we can’t always reply individually, but if a project feels like a natural fit we’ll be in touch within a few weeks. At that stage we’ll discuss next steps — whether that means an editorial feature with your supplied images, an interview, or a visit to create original photography. There is no cost to submit or to be featured. This is an editorial platform, not a paid listing service.

A note on timing and exclusivity

We prefer projects that haven’t been covered extensively elsewhere, but past publication isn’t a barrier if the story hasn’t been told in depth. If your project is under embargo or tied to a print exclusive, just let us know upfront so we can plan accordingly.

Thank you for considering sharing your work with The Garden of Cosmic Speculation. Every submission is a glimpse into a world someone has cared for, and that’s not something we take lightly.
